“Glimpses of Gratitude… Something Magical Does Show Up!”

“Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity… it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” ~ Melody Beattie

Life has a way of rushing past us, until we choose to pause. The smallest moments, when noticed, often become the most meaningful. Gratitude begins with a breath of thought, and from that breath, something magical can take root.

What moments in your life have surprised you with gratitude?
Sometimes gratitude doesn’t arrive as a grand epiphany. Sometimes… It slips in quietly, often disguised as an ordinary moment. A kind word when you need it most. A sunrise you almost missed. A hand reaching for yours in a season of uncertainty.

But how do we notice these glimpses? How can we make room for gratitude even in the midst of challenge?

Breathe. One deep inhale, one slow exhale. This is where we begin.

  • Ground yourself in the present moment. Let your attention rest on what’s real RIGHT NOW… The feel of the air, the sound of your heartbeat, the texture of the ground beneath you.

  • Acknowledge your fears and your courage. They are part of you, but your fears are NOT all of you. When you see them clearly, you can move forward with courage.

  • Remember you are not alone. Even in your hardest moments, someone cares, someone understands, someone is walking a similar path.

  • Create and sustain community. (Relationships in groups) are roots that keep us steady. Your social life may be key to your brain health.

  • Connect. Lean into others, people draw passion and purpose into our lives.

  • Unplug, judiciously. Step back from the noise so you can hear your own voice again.

  • Practice kindness. It costs nothing and grows exponentially. One act can ripple far beyond what you’ll ever know.

  • Care for your health through sleep, diet, and movement. Nourish your body so your spirit within your healthy body has the energy to rise.

  • Make art. Give shape to your imagination. Express the unspoken.

  • Pray. Whatever form this takes for you, prayer is the stillness that makes space for answers to come.

  • Practice hope. Even the smallest hope is a lantern in the dark. Hold onto it.

  • Practice DAILY gratitude. Notice the light through the window, the taste of your morning coffee, the comfort of a friend’s voice. A smile. Gratitude is the seed of joy.

When you live this way, you’ll see it: those fleeting glimpses of gratitude that make you stop, grin, and realize… Something magical really does occur every day! Glimpses! Synchronistic coincidences! Magic! God! Call it what you like!

How is your higher Self related to experiencing gratitude?
Your higher Self is that calm inner knowing, the wise part of you that recognizes beauty even when the world feels heavy. It’s the lens through which gratitude becomes easier to see, not because life is perfect, but because your perspective is awake.

When you’re embracing your higher Self, even life’s smallest moments become miracles. The smile from a stranger. The resilience you didn’t know you had. The way light filters through a window at just the right angle. Your higher Self knows these aren’t coincidences… they are reminders.

Gratitude doesn’t vanish when life is hard. In fact, it often blooms in the midst of challenge. Gratitude invites you to witness the good that coexists with the hard.

Let gratitude be the bridge between where you are and where you want to be.
Let yourself feel wonder again.
Always… Yes… Always… Come from a place of love.

Your higher Self isn’t separate from you, your inner truth is you, it’s your inner knowing, your inner compass, it is unshaken and aware. You can invite this part of yourself forward daily by slowing down, listening deeply, and trusting what you know to be true. When you live from this space, you create the conditions for magic to happen.

“Gratitude bestows reverence… changing forever how we experience life and the world.” ~ John Milton

A Simple Perspective Self Study Shift:
Instead of asking, “Why is this happening to me?”… try asking, “What in this moment can I be grateful for?” or “How might this be guiding me toward something beautiful?”

You Might Think on This…
Gratitude is both anchor and compass. It steadies you in the storm and points you toward the light. The more you choose to notice it, the more it reveals itself, until one day you realize you are living in the very magic you once hoped for.

You Might Try These Practices:

  1. Grounding into Presence (Read this aloud or silently with intention)
I am here. I am safe.
I am open to noticing beauty in this moment.
I invite my higher Self to guide my awareness toward gratitude.
Breathe in. Place your hand on your heart. Exhale slowly.

  2. Reframe and Receive (Fill in the blanks)
Even though I feel _, I choose to notice _.
I release the rush toward “what’s next” and instead open myself to _.
I honor this moment as an opportunity to _.

  3. A Ritual
Light a candle. Write down three things you are grateful for today—no matter how small. Speak them aloud. Feel their truth in your body.
Or simply close the practice with: I trust there is magic in my path. I trust my timing. I trust myself.

“It all boils down to one thing...it is your ‘relationship’ to the source, and that relationship to that which we call God, or don’t call God, or don’t even know...is God. It is ALL that really matters...when you surrender, and stop resisting, and stop trying to change that which you cannot change, but be in the moment, be fully open to the blessings you have already received, and those that are yet to come to you, and stand in that space of gratitude, and honor, and claim that for yourself, and look at where you are, and how far you have come, and what you’ve gotten, and what you’ve accomplished, and who you are. When you can claim ‘that’, and see that, the literal vibration of your life will change. The Vibration of Your Life Will Change.”
